Use Autark in Cursor.
Cursor takes a custom OpenAI-compatible endpoint, so the Chat and Plan panels can run on Autark. Two settings behave in ways people do not expect, and both are worth knowing before you switch.
Setup
Open Settings → Models, then under API Keys:
1. Settings → Models → API Keys
2. Add the model names first, under "Custom models":
autark-agent, autark-pro, autark-deep
3. Enable the "OpenAI API Key" toggle
4. Paste your key: autark_sk_YOUR_KEY
5. Enable "Override OpenAI Base URL"
6. Set the base URL: https://api.autark.ai/v1
7. Click VerifyTwo things to know
The override is global. While it is on, Cursor sends OpenAI-family requests to Autark even when you pick one of Cursor's own models. Switch it off when you want Cursor's models back.
Agent features stay on Cursor. Composer, Tab autocomplete, Apply and Inline Edit run on Cursor's own backend. The override covers the Chat and Plan panels.
Cursor's Verify button tests with the model name you entered, and it may warn on non-OpenAI names. The request still works.
Troubleshooting
Verify warns about the model name
Expected. Cursor checks against OpenAI's model list. Send a real message in the Chat panel to confirm the connection.
Cursor's own models stopped working
The base URL override is still on. Turn it off to use Cursor's models again.
